Job Purpose
To provide high-quality legal advice,representation, and case management in Court of Protection matters, ensuringcompliance with statutory requirements, firm policies, and regulatorystandards. The postholder will manage a caseload of matters relating tocapacity and welfare, supporting vulnerable clients and their families whilecontributing to the development of the department. The successful candidatewill manage a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including:
Key Responsibilities
- To manage a caseload of Court of Protection matters, including s.16 and s.21A MCA 2005 proceedings
- Liaise with clients, experts, and the Official Solicitor as part of case preparation
- Collaborate with teams on existing Court of Protection matters.
- Contribute to business development initiatives to grow the department
- Ensure excellent client care and professional service delivery
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 1 year experience inCourt of Protection Health & Welfare work .
· Demonstrable knowledge of theMental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant case law.
· Experience in legal aid-fundedmatters (desirable).
· Excellent organisational,drafting, and communication skills
· Ability to prioritise and workeffectively in a high-paced environment
· Flexible, proactive, andsolutions-focused approach
· Competence in Microsoft Word
